Ashdod Sea Fortress Ecological Park

Urban Nature Park

The park was established by the Ashdod Municipality, in cooperation with the Ashdod Tourism Association and with the support of the “Open Spaces Preservation Fund” of the Israel Land Authority. City residents and nearby schools assisted in planting, seeding, and clearing the area.

The park serves as an educational and learning center for students in the area and as a recreational and leisure site for the general public. It features walking trails, shaded seating areas, and informative signage.

Within this area, an urban nature park was established with the aim of preserving and supporting biodiversity. Here, you can see the characteristic vegetation of sandy areas, remnants of ancient agriculture (moats), wandering and stabilized sand dunes, exposed clayey soils, and several humid depressions.

A variety of vegetation characteristic of sandy areas has been planted on the site, along with native trees and bushland. Detailed observation points and shaded study areas have been arranged. Numerous efforts have been invested in the restoration and conservation of biodiversity. Please contribute to this effort by adhering to appropriate behavior rules!
