Stroma and Pekora were 2 emigration ships that were sunk in the Black Sea. 770 refugees were drowned in Stroma and only one person survived. Whereas in Makkora, 310 refugees and 5 survivors were drowned. The monument is made of bronze, made by the sculptor Baruch Wind.
