An intensive open public space that includes: a space for small events – outdoor shows for children, Shabbat reception, food fair, Trucks Food fair, an observation deck, a place to rest and a deck for outdoor sports – yoga, pilates, and more. An outdoor workspace (Workout) is planned in the space, with workplaces in the outdoor environment, which include a shading system, access points for electricity and wireless internet. An extreme park with an area of about 40 dunams, for 2500 visitors, with water and amusement facilities, restaurants, cafeterias and a parking lot for about 400 vehicles for the benefit of the island of the complex and the beach island. The facilities include: water slides, pools, jet pool, children’s playgrounds, karting track, shade and more.
Opening the breakwaters of the marina to the public and turning them into a promenade for pedestrians. Establishment of an infrastructure that will allow the hosting of temporary small fairs (such as an artisan fair, a local food market). The pier will eventually lead to an open observation deck on the water’s edge. Work will begin on the northern breakwater in 2020.
In the past year, the tourism company renovated the citadel and developed the ecological park, which the residents of Ashdod and many tourists enjoy today. In order to make these complexes accessible in the best possible way, an access road to the citadel will be developed in 2022, including a sidewalk and a bicycle path. The road will lead from the entrance square on Moshe Dayan Street to the citadel and will add about 180 parking spaces to the area.
