The Ashdod Museum of Art, one of the leading in Israel, has been operating for 15 years and presents changing exhibitions of Israeli art. The museum consistently examines issues concerning local identity, these are examined against the background of the unique character of the city of Ashdod – an Israeli city – with multiple identities and multiculturalism. The move was woven through a number of exhibitions presented in recent years, which sought to reveal and examine the sensitive nerve centers of contemporary Israeli culture. In the exhibitions, works of art by contemporary artists alongside veterans, Israeli alongside international artists are presented in diverse artistic mediums.
