A bridge to the present

The bridge, built by the Turks at the end of the 19th century on the foundations of the original Roman bridge, is the northernmost point in the country that the Egyptian army forces were able to reach during the War of Independence, hence the name “Ad Halum”, which is also the name of the interchange located south of the bridge. At the end of the war, the historic bridge was restored and Ad Halum Park was established next to it, where there is a commemorative site in memory of the dead of Givat and a monument to the dead of the Egyptian army. The park borders the beautiful Lachish Stream Reserve.
