For thousands of years, Ashdod has served as a vibrant cultural center for the local population, traders, and anyone who passed through the Great Sea. Since then and to this day, the city continues to be a fascinating melting pot of traditions, cultures, and communities from around the world. Many of its cultural institutions, especially those located in Kiryat “Zilker,” have received national and international recognition. Beyond the institutions themselves, Ashdod is adorned with hundreds of magnificent sculptures and monuments that grace every corner of the city, and its streets host a wide range of cultural events every year.
