The Ashdod Municipality and the Tourism Society are constantly working on the development of the river and LaKish Park as a unique tourist center for the city of Ashdod, which is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the country throughout the year.
At the current stage, a floating cubicle sequence has been set up, from which 10 pedal boats (only) descend into the water. They will operate and paddle for about 1.5 kilometers – around the Challenge Park and near the mouth of the river into the sea. Pedal boats will be rented to the public (under constant supervision and management), and users must comply with all required safety regulations. All aspects of rowing will be constantly monitored and documented during the activity and beyond.
The river water is regularly checked and monitored every few days by professionals, and it has been found suitable and approved for rowing by the Ministry of Health for several years. During the rowing activity, water monitoring will be increased, and a “green flag” will be raised daily to continue the activity, through independent environmental checks by municipal associations to ensure environmental quality.
In addition to the return of rowing, Ashdod Tourism sees great importance in continuing to promote “green” activities that combine the enjoyment of the river and its surroundings with education about preserving the rich nature and wildlife in the park.

Rowing in the LaKish River – Questions and Answers

Question: What is the cost of rowing?

Answer: Ashdod residents ₪50, non-residents ₪60

• The rowing time is half an hour.

• Delay in returning the boat will result in an additional half-hour charge.

• The payment is for the boat, not per person, regardless of the type of boat.

• The boats are for two people.

• Payment is by credit card only at the self-service station.

• Children aged one year and above are allowed on the boat; additional passengers cannot be carried even if they are holding a child in their hands.

• Animals are not allowed on the boat.

Question: Does this really work?

Answer: After purchasing the ticket, you should take what you have and reach the gate for descending to the river.

Those who pass by their number should take another number.

Question: What are the days and hours of operation?

Answer: Rowing is available every day of the week, with the first boat departing at 10:00 AM.

The last boat departs at 4:30 PM.

You cannot purchase a ticket if it will result in rowing in the dark, and if you arrive after 5:00 PM, it is advisable to check with the operator in advance.
