It’s no wonder that Ashdod’s seven renowned bathing beaches are known as the “Golden Beaches.” Year after year, they receive the highest rating for cleanliness in Israel and meet the international “Blue Flag” standard. All of the beaches, some of which are considered the best for paddleboarding in the country, are also accessible to people with disabilities, equipped with high-quality beach facilities, and offer free parking. You’re invited to swim in the pleasant waters at one of these stunning beaches and even venture out into the sea from the blue marina.

Ashdod Sea Fortress

The fortress is located at the southern tip of Ashdod, just meters from the shore. It was built during the early Arab period (640-1099). Several rooms have been restored, and ancient cooking and baking ovens were uncovered. You can enjoy a tour of the fortress in all seasons, especially in late summer when you can witness the magnificent blooming of the night-blooming cereus and beach morning glory and enjoy a spectacular sunset.
